Launch Pad (August 12, 2017)

Here is your weekly open thread and blog update. Comments and questions are welcome and nothing is off-topic.

Last week

The Música Mondays post was Pedro Capó’s cover of Amor Prohibido.

We posted recaps and summaries for Guerra de Ídolos.

We currently have Watch Parties going for

La Candidata (now in Últimas Semanas) and Totalmente Diva and we threw in one last one for the ending of CLAP, El Lugar de tus Sueños.

We’ve neeeeearly wrapped up the summer Book Club, with Laura Freixas’ “Final absurdo”.

Pase VIP got dumped and Kat had some words about that.

What’s happening this week

Monday, Aventuras en el Tiempo starts. In keeping with Galavision’s summer theme, it’s a kids show. A sci-fi kids telenovela with actual time travel. Seriously.

Also Monday, En Nombre de Amor starts on Univision tlnovelas.

On Friday night, La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo has its gran final.

Next week: The gran estreno of Mi Marido Tiene Familia, MLS soccer on UniMás, Premios Tu Mundo on Telemundo.

Check the Horario for the regular schedule of telenovelas and series, the Calendar for events (including pre-emptions and schedule changes), the Proximas list for upcoming shows, and the Streaming page to keep up with what’s available on Netflix, Blim, the network apps, and more.

Known technical issues

None at this time.

Author: 5ftLatina, La Diva del Desierto

Kat is 5ftLatina. She is really 5' tall (and probably shrinking) and Latina. She is not actually a cactus, but she is both prickly and cute. Mr. 5ft is actually married to Kat, but is not 5' tall or Latina. He is also not a form of plant life.

Does anyone know how “Mariposa del Barrio” has been doing in the ratings? They’re constantly promoting it (with an air of desperation) on “Suelta la sopa,” which makes me think it must not be doing well. I did try to Google my question, but can’t get any info beyond how it did the first week or so.
