Author: 5ftLatina, La Diva del Desierto

Kat is 5ftLatina. She is really 5' tall (and probably shrinking) and Latina. She is not actually a cactus, but she is both prickly and cute. Mr. 5ft is actually married to Kat, but is not 5' tall or Latina. He is also not a form of plant life.

Wow! What a surprise! We have a real mystery going on now with some unknown tipo directing it all. Mauricio with his vapid life and vanity seems to be a very easy mark. Kika just wanting to go to that penthouse and ending up in the cul-de-sac. What a hoot! I loved Jorge calling Kika “señora” but after seeing her reaction quickly changing it to “señorita”. I also got a kick, out of Mauricio and Renée giving each other the stink eye after both asking Anifer’s plant if it was happy.

Yay! I’m glad it continues to be good. I’m counting the minutes until the bell rings and I can go home and watch!

PS-my husband was disappointed we didn’t have an episode to watch yesterday. We’re usually both in bed before it starts.

Nope. This episode did not disappoint.

I’m glad the puppy has a new home and that they explained that pet ownership was a big responsibility.

Flor Ivonne was doing a PSA for nursing! That was a nice surprise. Neron was right to be proud of her.

Poor Neron! His business isn’t doing well.

Mauricio is digging his hole deeper and deeper. First the lie about Ani’s mom, now the whole business with Renee’s maestría. *sigh*

Who is the big man in charge of Falcón and “Juan”?????????????

Forgot to add…

Why do I feel like Toño is going to blow the interview? He didn’t seem very grateful for the chance.

I feel like I’m missing something with the Jorge/Yuri relationship (I confess I wasn’t paying close attention.) Was he aware she had cancer and was just assuming the treatments were working?

ITA that Toño might blow the interview because he is a . . . jackass! Jorge didn’t know Yuriria was ill until he saw her and didn’t know she was dying until she told him. I wonder if Mauricio and Renée will get the Catholic school to keep Anifer as a student. Nerón sure overreacted when the suit thought he was Flor’s father and Milady’s grandfather. Wow! Kika sure educated herself on Mexican vocabulary to use the “right word”( in her opinion) to call Renée “the maid.” Interesting, Nerón has all of his papers in order but the local govt.… Read more »

Ugh. Hopefully Renee and Mauricio will think again and ask Vero and Toño where their kids go to school. San Borjas is not a good fit for Ani.

My husband thought Kika was hilarious, especially after I translated a little. He sounded like a twelve year old laughing and declaring “Renee is jealous!” 🙂

Jorge is a rigid, controlling idiot. Howid he expect Lili and Balda would react?????

Poor Nerón…but he did overreact to the suit.

Eventhough, she is most likely up to no good, Kika makes me laugh with her exaggerated Venezuelan accent. Just wait until you see her on line video that she will use to intro herself to bigwigs at Logatoys..

Yes, your husband is right about Renée. That is exactly what Mauricio accuses her of at the end of Wed.’s episode.

Yes, it is definitely “Poor Nerón”. Getting his tire store open again will not be as easy as one would think.

Another fun episode (minus Jorge and families) tonight.

The exaggerated accent is exactly what my husband loves. He said this morning “I don’t know what she’s saying, but it cracks me up to listen to her!” Her video is a hoot, I’m sure.

It’s nice to come home and watch this after a long day at work. I hate always being a day behind, but I can’t seem to stay up past 8 any more!

Ha! That video!

So Kika and Mau went to high school together? Hmmm. Could revenge for some high school be her motive for investing? It feels like Flacón and Kika are separately working against Mau.

Anifer slapping away Kika’s hand was hysterical. Oh, have I gushed over Anifer yet this week? She is making the show for me.

Jorge seems full of platitudes. Baldo is right. Save the sermons.

It was no surprise to see who was behind closing Nerón’s shop.

Carola is a mess. Hopefully she’ll get some house training. I don’t want her to lose her home!

I keep wondering about the same thing since he keeps hiding it from his sister. More this weekend . . .

I look forward to your thoughts.

It definitely looks like Kika is out for revenge.

Guess that is what happens when you drop your iPad and it posts w/o you being able to finish the address. Sorry!

Jorge really showed who he was. Why would you go to a dinner and criticize the life style of the people who are feeding you? He never should have come.. Just because of that reason, I was glad Renée told him off. He was the one who chose to come and eat. Nerón was smart in not joining him. On the other hand, I was happy that Jorge told his new found children that he was there father and not “Jorge”, etc. If they don’t want to call him “father”, which I can understand, maybe they need to call him… Read more »

“Why would you go to a dinner and criticize the life style of the people who are feeding you?” *snort* Jorge’s behavior doesn’t surprise me at all. Nerón was smart to understand what Flor Ivonne meant with that pinching! Otherewise, he might have opened his big mouth… Speaking of which, Nerón does need to learn to keep his temper under control. It’s getting him into trouble! Anifer, Baldo and Lila (?) are going through a lot. It’s surprising they are not brattier. It must be tough to watch your mother go through chemo, die of cancer and then get told… Read more »

Yes, the back if someone’s head! That was a hoot. I wonder if we will ever get to see the face on the other side . . .

Hopefully we will! The hand seemed old. And it was caressing a small doll? Do we know for sure that Mau’s dad is out of the picture???

I thought so too. Details tend to escape me. That wouldn’t make much sense anyway.

Not by a long shot. If it’s an important enough detail they’ll repeat it repeatedly. 🙂

I just saw on Twitter a link to Canal de Estrellas and that this show is in últimas semanas in Mexico so I guess that means there’s about 100 episodes. That’s a good amount. Hopefully it will be good throughout.

Gracias, amiga. 100 is a good number. I don’t know why but I always like to know the whole picture asap. It gives me a better perspective. I spent the weekend with the last season of “Longmire” on Netflix. I am going to miss that show.

I like to know what I’m getting into as well. And with Ocampo in charge I didn’t know if they were still sticking to the “no more than 120 eps rule” Mejia imposed. It seems like they are.

My husband and I may have to give Longmire a try. We just finished The Good Place and we don’t know what to watch. We’ve been enjoying the One Day at a Time reboot too..

I did not know that it was Mejía who had created that rule. Good that Ocampo is keeping it.

Longmire is a modern day western with a mystery of the week type of format as well as a couple of overarching plots. There is also a strong Native American presence. Hey, I learned about cattle detectives and pop up rodeos from that show. ; ) Good storytelling and no loose ends at the end of the series made me a happy camper.
