Amar A Muerte on Univision
Weeknights at 11pm/10c starting 10/29.
This post will open on 10/29. Until then, find us on the Proximas post.
Yikes, the opening credits with Michel getting electrocuted are pretty gruesome! Not sure I want to look at that every night.
Sigh. This show. I think I had disapproving old lady face through most of it. And the kind of heavy disappointed mother sighs whenever there was santa muerte stuff. I'm such a stick in the mud.
And I know its a telenovela and therefore realism is something we shouldn't expect but man oh man. I was looking forward to a show with magic, cause I like those, but ungh. I'm not sure why but this isn't working for me. I'll give it a few more episodes before I give up.
My biggest problem right now is that none of the character's actions make sense. Why are they doing these things? And also why should I care about them long enough to figure out why they are doing these things.
I remember in the beginning of Caer en Tentacion I was wondering why some of the characters were doing the things they were, but this show is worse, nobody's actions are making any sense.
They just used that song as a love theme in La Jefa del Campeón. Why are they trying to ruin it for me?! And yeah, just got to the entrada and I do not want to be looking at that electrocution five nights a week.
What was up with that wedding? It seemed way too loud and busy.
Well a three way body switch is going to be hard to keep track of.
I feel like a hypocrite, I say I want telenovelas to not be mindless and then I complain when I have to pay attention or I'll get confused 😩
The wedding reception was a lot going on, not surprising someone could pull out a knife to stab someone without anyone noticing until its too late. Now I'm wondering if Johnny(I think that's his name?) planned the wedding for them that way on purpose. I liked the dress (can't remember Boyer's character name, drat) was wearing. Now all we need is to know why. Why does Johnny want to kill his boss/surrogate father? Why the hell is she sleeping with Johnny? In fact none of the characters really make sense to me. Still.
@lindaf I didn't recognize La Muerte at all, but that's maybe because I was paying more attention to my crocheting than the show 😋 At least that way I've missed the electrocution in the entrada so far. 😬
I agree, La Muerte looks familiar, but I can't place her.
I've watched the second episode now and it feels like the pieces aren't fitting together well. It all feels kind of vague. I don't know how to explain it.
Beltrán/Chino: the criminal as a supposedly fantastic and wildly passionate lover is straight out of Breaking Bad!
Haven't seen Breaking Bad but I keep wondering why Beltran was such a dud in bed, and also why is Chino ok with cheating on his wife just because he's in another body.
My favorite part of the Beltran story line so far is the "they're doing exercises, they're doing yoga" part. It was too funny, that kid is gonna have a weird idea of what yoga is now 🤣
I think Michel Brown actually looks quite a bit like Alexis Ayala, just a beard and a decade or so difference really.
Finally saw the electrocution scene, yikes that's creepy. How I missed it all the times before I don't know
I didn't see El Cuerpo DD but I think this one has an extra body swap with the college professor. I did see En Otra Piel which I was told at the time (Good Lord! Its four years ago! Yikes 😱 ) was a remake of ECDD but with women body swapping instead of men.
