I've seen the premiere and I think it's lovely, but I don't know if I want to recap it.

One day these finca owners are going to learn not to confront the embezzler they've discovered alone and give them "one chance" to come clean about what they're doing. Screw that! Post a status update on Facebook, assemble witnesses, press charges with no warning. They've had "once chance" and it was before anyone found out about it.

At least that way, when the confrontation leads to a sudden, but inevitable death, the little weasel can't get away with it because everybody knows.

@kat I liked it. I'm still on the fence, but I did like the music and scenery. I know nothing about this story. I haven't seen the original (or the Azteca adaptation or Destilando Amor 😂)

@topperarnold same here. I like it, but I just want to watch and listen and not be thinking about how to describe things.

I just couldn't fit it into my schedule, especially since this past week they ran 2-hour blocks of DTA! I'll be curious to hear what you think as it progresses.

I was planning to give Si nos dejan a look until I learned that it's a remake of Mirada de mujer, one of my all-time favorite novelas. The whole point of that story was seeing a middle-aged woman (with face and body corresponding to her age) come into her own and embrace independence. Casting Mayrín Villanueva, with her perennially youthful attractiveness, is just all wrong.

How are they explaining that William Levy is the only one in his family without a Colombian accent?

So far, they're not. I suppose if I had to, I'd say he spent too long in New York?

Thanks, that makes sense! I've had trouble in the past with William Levy's diction, so I'm curious to know what you think of his accent/pronunciation in this novela. (I kind of wish the whole cast had been Colombian--I love the musicality of their accents!)

I can't wait to get started on this one! I'm stashing the recordings until next week, since Quererlo Todo is just winding up (and undergoing an irrational hatchet job as Uni smooshes the last 6 weeks into 3.)

William has put on that singsong Colombian accent a few times around Gaviota, like he's making fun of himself or making fun of the accent.

My DVR always records extra time, so I usually watch the first 5 minutes of Café that starts after Loli. From this small tidbit, I’ve come to like the characters of Marcela and her boyfriend best. Are they as likable as my short sampling suggests?

I love the two of them, and I love them together.
