Corazón Que Miente
It...did not suck. Lots of familiar faces an so many tropes that can be done well or fail miserably. The fact that there are only 70 episodes and that we know this for sure helps.
Lets's see in just the first episode we had...
- a jealous cousin
- more names than I could keep up with
- the daughter of the servants wondering why she couldn't be friends with the hijo of the patrón
- consctruction company run by a man with no scruples thanks to a forced marriage with the now dead(?) owner's daughter
- two very different brothers
- lost love
- young love
- a fight over land
- bidness favors
- the discovery of an affair
- a social climbing wife
And probably more that I'm forgetting. A bonus: decent theme song and nice, cheesy opening.
I agree, I'm about halfway through, but it's not bad. I'm working on a character list for the sake of my sanity!
Looking forward to your thoughts. It did make me realize that I have been sort of missing a melodramatic story.
From your blog post...."possibly the father of one of Lucia’s children?"
See? I was thinking the same thing except Leo told the priest "that *could* have been my family." Also Demián seemed to favor the older son and I would have thought (perhaps incorrectly) that if any of the kids belonged to Leo it would be the oldest. Then again...Lucia seems to have a softer spot for the youngest.
So was Gregorio the previous owner of Quadrum? Carmen said something about Quadrum being very different from when Gregorio Castellano ran things.
I just thought Sara got really nervous at the thought of Leonardo meeting the kids.
That's what it sounds like to me, that Demián got control of the company by marrying Lucia.
Sara did get nervous, didn't she?
And to me, it seemed like that was about the boys and not about Lucia running into her ex.
I had the same impression.
Disclaimer - I only watched once and there was a ton of stuff going on.
Best dinner party ever! I hope Lucia takes the creep for everything he's worth. Aw, damn, she's buying her freedom. Oh hell no, don't leave the kids with him!
I'm watching Carla wipe down her face with makeup remover and nothing's budging.
Fondling the sculpture is a little weird to me.
I really don't like Amalia's uniform. It looks heavy and uncomfortable.
I made some updates to the character list.
Wow! Two episodes that did not suck! Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease don't screw up with just 70 episodes! I know you can do it, show!
Demián is not subtle!
Demián-No, no...I really do love you.
Lucía- Nope. I'm out.
Demián- *whines* but we'll have to split eeeeverythingggg. My riches! My power!
Lucía-You can have it all.
Demián- Can I get that in writing?
It just made me laugh. Until he pulled that I'll take the boys BS.
I do like that the two boys like each other and haven't been poisoned by jealousy. I hope that doesn't change.
Amalia is the best, tough! Loved the scene with her and Noé. (Her uniform did look uncomfortable.)
I really wish that this necklace of great sentimental value didn't look so...cheap and plastic.
I watched the first episode and it was so relaxing to watch because the plot all was so expected. The cast was great. It might be a nice summer novela if I can find the time.
amedrentar - intimidate
I'd like Rafaela more if she just came right out and said she was sleeping with Demián and she's going to give Lucia some proof so she gets out without having to give him everything.
I like leo's paintings in his workroom.
mala entraña - evil
It would take a jerk like Demián to think the proper response to Lucia wanting a divorce is asking someone to make a statue of her so he can literally own her.
I do not like Rafaela messing with Santiago's head.
OK, now I'm convinced Rogelio was the one behind the dead animal on the lawn.
