El Sultán on Telemundo
Thanks so much; that was really helpful! My cable guide is showing that the two back-to-back episodes of Decisiones will be identical. Do you see that in your guide? I’m surprised they’d do that in prime time, but maybe they didn’t make enough episodes to show all new ones up to 1/13.
I don't see the descriptions on Decisiones.
I do see back-to-back episodes of El Sultán in the middle of the night. I'm still checking into that.
So now my cable guide is showing those late-night airings of El Sultán (some from 3-5 AM, others from 3:30-5 AM). I don't know if they'll be new eps or repeats. Then, they simply disappear from the guide once January begins.
There was one plot point I really wanted to see resolved before I stopped watching, but the app is only listing the first episode of the season and nothing else! Why would Telemundo point us to the app if nothing but that is out there? 😖
Thanks so much, Deb! Sorry for the delay replying, but somehow I missed your post earlier.
I watched the rest of the early AM broadcasts, which pretty much wrapped up Season 1, albeit with some heavy cutting and editing. And now I'm going to eat my words! This turned out to be one of the most exciting, compelling novelas I've seen in recent years. During the final episodes that Telemundo aired, I was on the edge of my seat and couldn't take my eyes off the screen.
I never did warm up to the Sultán himself, but the series is worth watching for two absolutely magnificent characters: Hurrem (Sultana) and Ibrahim (Grand Visir). The two are arch enemies who play a cat-and-mouse game throughout the 1st season that will leave you breathless. The acting is top-notch, and the characters are richly developed. The story line took a while to heat up but, when it did, watch out! I can't say enough good things about this show. I'm heartbroken that we won't be seeing the next 3 seasons.
I've got a DVR full of episodes and a knitting project that needs attention, so I'm going to be catching up today
Um, wow. Somebody needs to get Mustafá to calm down. It was cute the first time he was demanding to see his dad and I guess I could've written it off as jet lag, but interrupting a big meeting sounding like a spoiled brat in front of all daddy's important friends? Yikes!
Can't wait to hear what you think! Just a warning that when they first took the show off prime time, they did some drastic cutting and editing, but then things calm down and the final episodes flow well (although I'm sure we're still missing a lot).
Does anyone know where I can watch Seasons 2-4 of El Sultán, dubbed to Spanish? Free would be great, but I'm willing to pay/subscribe to whatever platform carries it.
hmm, looking around youtube, it seems the shows with spanish captions are not the original lengths and so the chapter numbers vary, making searches difficult.
but here is a start, season one actually ended with Hurrem looking at her bowl of turkish delights, season 2 begins, which I think you've seen, so your next would be 49 here,
there is a list of all chapters to the right but but some are "blocked in country", so, you'd have to find another source for those or maybe switch to the full length english ones. I am currently on english 26 (below) which would be the spanish 50.
You mentioned the charades in your recap and, when that episode first aired, I didn't know the characters well enough to appreciate her imitations. It was fun to go back later and view it again, once I could identify her targets!
Thank you so much, Deb! This is a huge help to me. I really appreciate your research. I'll start watching right away.
For some reason, I haven't been receiving notifications of any of Deb's posts in this foro, even though I'm subscribed and she's been tagging me. I do get notifications of your posts, though. Any idea what is happening?
