Telemundo is presenting a 35-episode version of Season 1 as a lead-in to Season 2. Beginning March 4 it will air weeknights at 10pm/9c. We have an episode guide for Season 1 (the original 63-episode version) here.
If you're looking to chat strictly about Season 2 we have a Proximas post here.
So far, Special Edition episode 1 only seems to have been cut down for the sake of making room for LRDS2 trailers.
The turquoise high heels! I didn't understand them the first time, and I don't understand them now. The instructions were to start running, so this woman doesn't own a pair of tennis shoes or at least some flats? If someone told me I had to take off running for my life, the last things I'd put on would be skin-tight jeans (the kind you have to lie down on the bed to pull on) and high heel shoes! 😱
I had similar thoughts @lindaf! She spent a lot of time packing too. I would think you would have a bag ready to grab and go.
These things never occurred to me the first time I watched.
In the other hand, It also illustrates how utterly NOT part of that life that she is. It was not her lifestyle.

And it seems to be the same trailer every time.
A little variety wouldn't hurt, but I also don't want us to show the whole show by the time we get to it! Hopefully they'll simmer down.
LOL, the shoes! I know women who swear they can run around easier in heels than flats. More power to them! I love the idea of a getaway bag. But I think she'd convinced herself Güero was overreacting.
Wednesday's got us almost to the end of episode 4. I'm curious to see if they're going to keep to a steady rate or cut more at the beginning so they can leave the end alone.
Thursday's gets us to the end of Episode 5, I think. They need to step on it! I haven't seen Friday's yet, but they could cut the whole thing at Cacares' house and I sure as hell wouldn't mind.
Friday's got us into Episode 7.
We did NOT need that much of Cacares! That was a waste of time. Mr. 5ft thinks they're pandering to who they assume their market is.
I think I must have blocked the Cacares episode from my mind, and I can't bear to rewatch it. @kat, does she end up having sex with him? (I did check your episode guide first.)
I probably shouldn't have called it "sex" considering it was a choice between that and going back to Mexico to die. But yes, he did rape her, I just don't remember in what ways. They cut the part after she gets out of the shower and finds him waiting in the bedroom and I can't remember whether she just told him off and told him off and left.
That whole episode is a blur in my mind; I really must have found it disturbing to have forgotten it so completely. I'm wavering about watching the new season. I'm sure it will be a high-quality production, but I just don't know if I'm up for heavy doses of violence and high body counts. For instance, I started out super enthused with B&B and ended up worn out by it all. It's probably good that I'm watching Betty right now!
I've just been thinking about the same thing this week. In my experience the second and subsequent seasons of the noarcos (for lack of a better term) have not necessarily had a better story, they've just tried to one up themselves on the violence. I'm hoping that will not be the case with LRDS2.
