La Sultana on Telemundo
Poor, poor Iskender! And Kösem didn't even shed a tear for him. Maybe I'm nuts, but I'm wondering if he's still alive. Zülfikar could have held his neck long enough to make him faint, but not to kill him. Even buried, he'd then be able to dig his way out.
It looked pretty final to me what with Safiye receiving his clothes and Hümaşa freaking out....but that could be part of the act!
The only thing keeping Kosem out of full-on Safiye territory is that I still (maybe naively?) think her goal is doing what's best for the Empire, where Safiye has always been self-serving and ready to cause trouble if she didn't get her way. She couldn't get Ahmed and Kosem to do what she wanted, so she focused on Mustafa instead...and then when Iskender showed up and she thought he was a better option, bye bye Mustafa.
ETA: And of course no one could possibly think that Mustafa, at any point, has been the best option as a ruler, but whatever. Mama Safiye's gotta get her tiaras.
My Spanish teacher, who is Mexican, sent me these interesting comments about the ending of La Sultana:
