Yes, those danged flashbacks!  But I guess I'm getting accustomed to them.  There's an amusing cameo by Sofía Castro--funny because she plays the daughter of a Mexican president, LOL!  (In real life, she's the step-daughter of Enrique Peña Nieto.)

OK, Episode 3 was not so bad. And since the DVR caught the reruns I checked out the first party and finally saw Real!Luis in the crowd.

This episode made me want to wax Luisito's mustache right off. Or pluck it out one hair at a time. The lousy creep!

I recognized the actress who played Agustina in Guerra de Ídolos at the beginning of the show...very '80s bangs!

Why do I not believe a word Luis is saying...well, ever...but especially about Mickey's mom not wanting to see any of them. So she sent him the postcard why?

Ugh!  It drives me crazy how Mickey falls for Luis' scams over and over.  Luis has occasional bouts of brilliance/inspiration (e.g. "El Sol de México"), but overall he was such a toxic presence.  I have a sick feeling we'll never know what really happened to Marcela, and I'm imagining the worst. 🙁

I feel like I'm getting repetitive about how much I don't like Luis and want him out of the story, but what can I say. I don't like Luis and I want him out of the story! He acts like Micky's his property and gloats about doing stuff that upsets him. He manipulates everyone to the point that my default guess on everything is that he's lying.

Looks like the ratings are pretty disappointing for this series and continue declining.  I’m guessing they won’t film more seasons, which means we’ll probably miss out on the last couple of decades of LuisMi’s life.

That's not encouraging. And I hate to say it, but I don't blame people for not tuning in. This one missed the mark. I don't know if I can blame Luisito for that? I think he's the worst bad parent who has stuck around. It's not my idea of a good time to watch that.

Edit: missing a critical not

A couple of curiosities about the LuisMi series that I wanted to share:

Did you see the headlines about the president of Mexico’s reference to the series?  When asked who the most hated man in Mexico was (many would have answered that it was the president himself!), Peña Nieto replied, “No sé cada quien tiene el suyo. Cada quien tiene su quien. Ahí está el de la serie de Luis Miguel, Luisito Rey”.  I dunno, but it seems kind of cowardly to me to point the figure at a dead guy, even one as odioso as LuisMi’s dad.

In last week’s episode, LuisMi suspected Mariana of cheating on him with her ex-boyfriend, someone they called El Moro in the series.  Well, he’s none other than the famed film director, Alejandro González Iñárritu, whose real nickname is El Negro!  Here’s an article about it:

That was pretty horrific, the car race ending in the water. And then he complains about them wanting him to stop drinking. Dude...do you not want to stop drinking after that?!

As much as we joke about it being a small world in telenovelas, when you start getting into celebrities and their dating lives it's the same thing.

I was so scared we were about to see another Chappaquiddick!  I had never heard about that incident.

It pays to Google certain characters in these bio series, because they often change the name slightly (or completely), and you don't realize until checking that it involves someone pretty famous.  They did those minor name tweaks a lot in the Lupita series, as well.

Considering Luisito seems to have stolen all his money, I'm pretty sure that would have been the end of Luis Miguel as we know him if she'd died and they couldn't pay off her dad to keep him quiet.

I wonder if that submerged car story was public knowledge before this series.  I've seen so many gossipy reports about him over the years, that I thought I knew most of the scandals surrounding him.

This is the authorized biography, isn't it? I was surprised they left that in. It really doesn't show him in the best light. I have to remind myself that the "adult" Luismi we keep seeing is barely 18. Not to excuse him, but he's really obviously not ready to manage his own life.
