Papá a Toda Madre
My only conern if Noel dies is how will the truth come out? Does someone else know? Fabian I guess. I've been FFing through things so much that I'm sure I'm missing some fine details, but it will all come together in the end. There's so much weirdness in the Noel/Bosco/Fabs/Mauricio story. Neither father seemed to care very much about their own son.
I'm ready for the Maria character to either go or at least let go of Mau. I doubt she'll ever be gone for good since she is Anifer's mother.
ITA that it was nice having a novela night off. I just wish they would have posted the info earlier since I was recapping that episode.
Highlights for me and they all were funny: Mauricio being stupid and getting electrocuted and thrown to the ground on his butt while trying to scale the fence/Verónica and Toño at the “command appearance” business dinner each with their “spouse”/ Floresota no more but now “Florvidente”.
I pretty much FFed through most of Wednesday (?) and the Thursday episode. I still have Friday to watch, but for some reason it isn't calling to me. It's good to see you say that things are moving. I'm a little annoyed that it looks like Dulce might be back. I am assuming that's what was happening when the news report interrupted dinner.
I do still like watching Renee, Mau, Kika, Anifer and Rod and Rafa but not much else. I don't really have much to say about it I guess so I feel like a crappy conversationalist. 🙁 I'm sorry.
I *am* glad that we are starting to talk more about Don Bosco and the fire and all that stuff in the past! I think I'm most interested in the mystery since I'm pretty sure everyone will be paired off and happy by the end. Well, I am a little worried about Flor. I can really see them killing her off.
You are not a “crappy conversationalist” ! The writers seem to have dropped the ball and slowed the action down to a snail’s place recently. If I were not recapping this one, I would be ffwding, too. They need to pick up the pace. ITA about the mystery aspect. I am also interested in seeing if Pablo finds his father. Yes, Florvidente’s fate is worriesome. I loved how she knew that Nerón’s scratch off lottery ticket was a winner.
You are too kind! I don't know what it is, but recently there's been nothing that worthy of conversation for me. I wonder if part of the problem is that this is the longest show I've watched to far this year. I feel like I've said that before...like I've lost my stamina for longer shows. If MMTF 2 truly has only 70 epsiodes, I might check it out based on your recommendation.
It's especially frustrating because I feel like the writers are falling back on old tricks. This sudden appearance of Ariel (is that his name?) and Mau saying he's not sure if he'll get back with Renee. Puh-leeze...we all know they will end up together in the end. There really is no drama in this. Whatevs.
Now the mystery in my opinion should be front and center. They've dragged this out way too long. Maybe things will pick up this week. It's so close to the end.
Oh, I didn't quite get how Rafa's (?) police job was connected to an adoption. The judgy adoption lawyer said to try church affiliated or the procurador? Even the RAE is not helping me to understand how and adoption would go through a procurador. The closest I get is " En las comunidades, persona por cuya mano corren las dependencias económicas de la casa, o los negocios y diligencias de su provincia." So I guess a state adoption agency as opposed to private. I guess that could explain why Rafa would be nervous since he works in the public sector.
Your guess is as good as mine on the procuramiento. Rodrigo is still in the closet at work and was worried that going about an adoption through the state would out him.
The best part of last night was sad and involved Toño losing his father. Raúl Araiza playing Toño gave one of the best performances of the novela. Funny but I have found the acting of the second tier actors more convincing than the headliners in this one.
Another good part last night was Pablo in the USA finding out his dad may not be the man he remembered and idolized all these years.
You are right about the writers falling back on old tricks. The plot in itself is interesting but it is currently feeling like the writers are just filling up space and time with something. You know me, I am all for shorter productions since this is not a new phenomenon.
I have high hopes for MMTF 2 but have been disappointed by sequels/second seasons more than once in my life. If you can ever catch MMTF somewhere, it might be worth a watch. From the way it looks it could be coming out in the fall like last year which would be perfect. They were supposed to start filming in May.
Thoughts on Tues.
Looks like human trafficking could be the latest PSA. I doubt they will go through with the threat in this production.
I like that Rodrigo came out at his workplace and recognized Rafael as his husband to all present.
María can take Anifer and head for the hills and her home already.
Florvidente is in remission. Here is hoping she is safe until the end of this thing.
Whoa whoa whoa. I'm working on the Monday episode and QTH? Isn't Carnitas Doradas the same restaurante that was in Doble Vida? I didn't finish it and don't remember much about it but I swear the basement of that restaurant was headquarters for the shady guys. Is this an actual tie in to Doble Vida or just a wink at Rosy Ocampo?
I got through the Tuesday episode. I'm trying to stay positive about this one because there are still things to like. Fabs is funny and Kika has been consistently entertaining, but it feels like they are trying to drag it out because 100ish seems to be a magic number. The mystery about Pablo's dad does intrigue me, but why aren't we getting more info about Noel, Reneé, the fire and the past?
I know we aren't on the same page about this but the Vero/Toño story has never interested me. I guess I'm just getting my drama/seriousness from other sources right now. And the school play? Maybe if it had been earlier I could have accepted it as a cute interlude. Now it just feels like filler.
*sigh* Normally when I don't like a show I just stop watching. Life is too short for crappy TV and I really learned my lesson with the likes of La Gata, but I've invested this much time. It's usually much earlier that I lose patience so I guess that is one point for this show. It took much longer for the charm to wear off. Not only have I invested too much time, they've given me some great little mysteries and I *have* to know how they end. So one more point for you, show. 😉
I never saw Doble Vida and "thankfully" missed La Gata from what I have heard. I recapped Wed.'s episode. Believe me the school play got cursory coverage but there were a couple of interesting happenings including a creepy wiggly butt clown. 😐 We are still treading water but with 22-23 epsiodes left, it has to start moving soon. For me, this novela has ended up being average like most shows and movies out there. IMO, if they had more tightly written scripts like LC, MMTF and CET, it would improve the quality of novelas and not let the predictable doldrums kill viewership.
So much truth! Honestly I feel like parts of this were tightly written, but for whatever reason they decided there were going to be 100 episodes when 85-90 probably would have been enough.
It's nice to hear that even with its popularity, MMTF is only doing 70 episode 2nd season.
In my talking out my butt opinion, drama/action/intrigue should be 60-70ish episodes and traditional novelas should be 90-100. No matter what "tightly written" should be a requirement and every scene should have some relevance. Except maybe straight comedies.
