According to this article on La Hora de la Novela, there was. Or did I just blink and miss it?
Did we really need to be protected from the sight of Sebastian and David smushing faces? (Oh, David’s poor eye!)
Can that really be considered a kiss? What’s the operational definition of a kiss anyway?
And is it a “gay” kiss when both guys are heterosexual?
And even if they aren’t, as in the case of Rafa and Quique, can’t it just be “a kiss”?
And for that matter, have we even seen Rafa and Quique kiss at any point in this show? Or has that been removed to spare our delicate sensibilities as well?
UPDATE: Univision Novelas posted a short video of the scene on their Facebook page. Nope, still don’t remember that happening. And what’s with the video quality?
And it was being played for comedy. Not in any real relationship sense.
That same site also considered the actor playing Sebastian one of the “mejores” for 2015 and they referenced that scene as well.
I should go looking for some other articles from other places to see other opinions. It could be that this was a huge deal for the people running La hora de la novela, but no one else cared.
Honestly, there was a bit of hype before this novela started about having a sensitive and respectful gay story line. I’m not sure they’ve done that.
It was a funny scene, mostly because Titina was finally foiled (knock on wood), but I’ve also been uneasy since the first time Rafa suggested it. From the beginning, Rafa has been very private about his sexual orientation and practically hiding Quique (I’m thinking of the truck scene), and he’s doing that because he knows not everyone will be accepting and there could be serious consequences. It doesn’t seem entirely in character for him to make that suggestion. I guess the “progress” is that Rafa rightly pointed out that just because Sebastian had sex with her doesn’t mean he *couldn’t*… Read more »
I’ve updated the post to add a link to the Univision Novelas Facebook post. I’m not trying to snarky (sometimes it just happens) but it looks like someone used their cell phone to make a video of the TV and then they cut around the edges to try to hide that.
Thanks! Really I wanted to see the reactions or Titina and others. I felt sort of robbed.
I don’t think it counts as a gay kiss if the people doing the kissing are hetero.
As far as the network protecting us from questionable content , I’ve watched old movies that made it past the sensors of the 30s and 40s that had same sex kisses between two hetero people played for comedy, so, whatever.
Poor David is such a good sport, and having seen today’s epi (Spoiler alert) […] (stupid hothead hottie, I like him way less
ADMIN EDIT: I don’t have a convenient way to hide these
“As far as the network protecting us from questionable content , I’ve watched old movies that made it past the sensors of the 30s and 40s…”
Right? What is Uni’s deal?
Uni’s puritanism is comical.
And I don’t get it. It’s so weird!
