Launch Pad (February 20, 2016)

Here is your weekly open thread and blog update. Comments and questions are welcome and nothing is off-topic.

What happened last week

We continued to cover La Vecina with daily recaps. We now have official confirmation that the Gran Final date is March 4. Still no word on the replacement show. We also shared an NPR story about saqueadores in Texas.

We posted daily recaps of ¿Quién es Quién? and also posted recaps of Ruta 35 and got you caught up on La Querida del Centauro.

We discussed the upcoming Sueño de Amor on Univision and decided we’ll cover at least the premiere week.

We shared our Valentine’s Day playlist and celebrated Vicente Fernández’ birthday early with a song on Monday morning.

What’s in store for this week

Coverage of election debates is going to pre-empt programming on Telemundo on Thursday night. That’s been noted on the Horario/Schedule but we remind you keep an eye on your local listings.

Known technical issues

We have updates scheduled to go in tonight (Saturday).  As soon as that’s done, I’ll let you know what to watch out for.

Last week’s poll results

In the battle of the Eugenio Sillers, the winning Eugenio Siller is Perico living Leonardo’s life. And Original Recipe Leonardo gets no votes, poor guy!

021316 poll results

On this week’s poll, vote for the movie you’d most like to watch on Movie Night.

Kat is 5ftLatina. She is really 5' tall (and probably shrinking) and Latina. She is not actually a cactus, but she is both prickly and cute. Mr. 5ft is actually married to Kat, but is not 5' tall or Latina. He is also not a form of plant life.

Question about movie night? Where or when are they showing these movies?

I added it to the calendar, but it looks like there is going to be a special on Sunday evening “vuelo hacia su cuarta temporada de El Señor de los Cielos”. 10/9C. I assume it’s a summary of the first three seasons. If it’s true that Querida is only 52 episodes, then ESdlC should be starting soon.

I love this launch pad post because I have a place to go with my random comment about my excitement that it’s Thursday and that means Top Chef Mexico!

Ok. Let me just make my questionable taste public. I am kind of excited about this show El Vato. I might volunteer to do the first episode.
