FINALLY we hit the big party…but what’s Camila trying to do and who is The Phantom of the Nightclub?!

Monday – Gregorio is a creep. Neto is a prince.
I pretty much hit the FF button for all the club scenes. Was there something about a phantom?
Camila was going to kill the lights and someone stopped her, but they didn’t show their face.
Oh, it was Gregorio! I’m kind of impressed that he was suspicious of her (1), followed her (2), took definitive action (3), and wasn’t gross about it (4).
But then he’s hitting on Daniela which is not cool. He’s an odd kind of creep. I hope Daniela’s mom never leaves him alone!
Oh, and Neto! Neto is the #1 galan on the show right now.
General observation – during last week’s tango I couldn’t stop watching Emiliano. He’s not half bad.
Never mind. Forget I ever said anything kind about him.
I was actually starting to like him! That disgusting creep! And now it makes it look like Juan Pablo was right not to want Vale to work with him, but not it’s not even that he knew he was a creep, he just didn’t like him.
And then I felt bad for Camila. She wakes up with a creep in her bed and her parents don’t believe she didn’t bring him home. Why didn’t the maids say that he barged into the house?!
Oh.
My.
God.
This serenata.
That was an awesome serenata!
I watched it 3 times and I don’t want to erase the episode. I might want to watch it again.
And then he screws it up again. Way to go Juan Pablo! Are we supposed to be ignoring everything he does because he’s just so cute? ‘Cause it’s not working for me.
Hey, I thought we had this fluffy show, but now we’re talking about vocal nodes and Alenka pushing Helena into modern dance when it’s not her thing.
Not working for me either. He’s a jerk more than he’s a gentleman.
I’m not happy about Val’s nodes because that could be bad, but I like that they’ve added it to the story. It adds more…depth? Makes it more than just we’re all going to get famous. They seem to be portraying how much work it all involves and real things people have to worry about. I wish some of the Reina coaches had addressed keeping the vocal cords healthy more.
I’m glad he’s at least raising the possibility that it’s nodes and saying there’s something they can do, but considering it happens anytime she’s really anxious/upset, that would be my first guess.
Some of the things Juan Pablo says are on lists of “Things Abusers Say” and it makes me really uncomfortable.
I am utterly distracted by the weird, clunky dance shoes some of the students are wearing. Like the ones Elena was wearing. Val’s too. No wonder Val fell.
They’re jazz sneakers. They’re not really clunky to wear–it would be like taking a sneaker and getting rid of the sole under the arch of your foot. But it makes the heel and toe look huge!
Wed: I don’t know why I can’t remember the singing teacher’s name. I think it’s a testament to the versatility of Luis Gatica that he can talk to Val about nodes and seem completely sincere AND also tell Tomas he can’t get peras from an olmo (and was there some other racist metaphor in there? I tried not to think about it) and be believable. It is making me wonder why Tomas is there. This isn’t a beginner school.
And then he said it…apparently I should just relax because soon enough one of the teachers will make these observations for me. Who the heck was that guy sitting next to him in the meeting? Have we seen him before? And why does Alenka hate Vale so much?!
Thursday:
I’m breaking up with Juan Pablo. A jealous boyfriend is bad enough. A jealous ex glaring at you in class when he’s with someone else? Buh bye!
And he continues his, dare I say, intolerance? Insisting that he only wants to play rock and nothing else? And then he’s telling Camila’s mom he wanted to go to school so he could learn to read and write music…uh, really? ‘Cause that’s not how I remember it.
Jorge is gross.
Friday:
I like Jazmin hanging out with Helena. And I think she’s calmed down on the Juan Pablo crush too.
Although, so have I 🙂 Seeing him with Camila and Valentina with Emiliano is just…barfworthy. I dunno. Camila and Emi can go be nefarious together and Valentina can focus on school while “Pablito” grows up. Even his little speech to Camila about not butting in when he’s talking to a teacher just came off snotty.
(A few more episodes of this and I’ll be all “Look at that Juan Pablo eating crackers!”)
