We pick up where we left off last night, “Maria” is still on the plane, totally clueless to the fact that her daughter is there also, being held in a cage by El Batman and his henchmen, as the men play cards Sofia takes a piece of broken glass and escapes.
Now, here’s my beef. In season one Epifanio cuts ties with El Batman, he refuses to be seen with him in public and basically gives Batman’s job to Ramiro (also known as Ratas, also known as Epifanio’s bastard), those actions led to Batman being completely unprotected, both he and Teresa were the only people who knew and could prove that Epifanio was a drug lord, feeling that he had to get rid of anyone who could pose a threat to Epifanio and his political ambitions Ramiro went after Batman and tried to murder him. It turned out that Batman was hard to kill, but sadly his wife and kids were not as lucky and Ramiro killed them. So why would Batman be loyal to Epifanio?
Sorry, back to the action, “Maria” excuses herself and goes to make a private phone call, she reaches out to Willy and demands to know how much he was paid to betray her. Willy has no idea what she’s talking about, he was just chilling at his retirement party but he realizes that she is in trouble and will need friends, he and his co-worker tell her that they will meet her in Mexico.
*Willy was the DEA agent that in season one saved her life by warning her that her boyfriend had been murdered and that she had flee before the cartel found her, and he was also responsible for getting her out of Spain minutes before she was to be arrested, he then got her a deal that included total immunity for her crimes and got her placed in the witness protection program*
Meanwhile, Sofia almost causes the plane to crash, she is recaptured and is later taken by Batman to be looked after by a woman pretending to be a nun. Sofia is not fooled and tells the woman that she’s no nun because nuns don’t wear heels, she does call her a witch which seems spot on.
“Maria” arrives in Mexico and is greeted by Epifanio and his gang, he has kidnapped her daughter because he wants her to work for him and he knew taking her daughter would force her to do so. So here’s the rub, his political foe is getting funding by a powerful drug lord, Epifanio needs her to destroy the drug lord so that he can no longer fund his opponents campaign. Ummm, I feel like there’s easier ways that this could have been done, but I’ll go with it. “Maria” warns Epifanio that he has messed with the wrong woman, she is going to make him and every member of his family pay for what they have done to her and her daughter.
While this is going on Alejandro (Epifanio’s campaign manager) and Lupo meet up, Lupo has done his part of the scheme and he’s going home. While he is with Alejandro he gets a call from Cayetana, she wants to hire him again to finish la Mexicana. Lupo sends her to voice mail which leads her to call Siso Pernas.
A little background on Siso (I might be spelling his name incorrectly), basically Teresa killed his favorite cousin and destroyed his family’s drug empire. In her defense Siso planted a bomb in her car and almost killed her, I’d say they are even. Siso is surprised to learn that Cayetana had mailed him a package that contained all of Teresa’s information, including plans of her house, he never got that package but he jumps at the opportunity to get revenge.
Epifanio and Alejandro chat, Alex thinks that Lupo is in love with Teresa and he questions whether Epifanio loves Teresa as a daughter or something else. Epifanio says that he loves her like a daughter and that while she is attractive he does not feel anything for her.
Willy arrives to his meeting with Teresa and she attacks him, again demanding to know how much he was paid for betraying her, he finally calms her down and reminds her of everything he has done to help her, she tells him what Epifanio wants and confirms that she’s going to do everything he wants if it means getting her daughter back. Her words to Willy are “I’m going to help him become the next President of this country”.
That’s all for tonight folks!
