Matteo’s suffering a Moctezuma-over. Sure, it was fun to be the emperor…until it wasn’t.
When you say “free” you mean…?
Yep, that’s right, Dr. Bellman won’t be charging Fernanda a penny. And he doesn’t want to talk about it. He’ll have his assistant call her about the paperwork she needs to sign, and now, if she’ll excuse him, he has work to do. Fer and Dani are in shock. All Dani can come up with is maybe Bellman heard Santiago was in jail and he took pity on him? Fer looks doubtful.
Waiting for an answer
I’m ignoring the verbal part of “Leonardo’s” entreaties to Fernanda in favor of laughing over the physical side…he’s down on one knee with the flowers, making his excuses, and she keeps backing away from him, so he keeps scooting closer on that one knee after her. He enlists the aid of a passing neighbor to help him convince her to say yes, but that just annoys Fer and she drags him into her apartment to avoid any further public humiliation.
Con dinero baila el perro
Dr. Bellman thinks “Leonardo” called him about making a donation or starting some kind of health-related project. Ah, no, this is more personal. He needs Bellman’s professional services for a young man who… “Well, let’s just say he got hit with La Llorona’s curse and he needs a limpia with an egg the size of Godzilla’s.” No seriously, he said that.
Fuentemayor Corp chisme
Fer tells “Leo” this is the paperwork for the deal with the Spanish. She tries to make a run for it, but he’s taking advantage of the moment to whine and grovel. It’s a total fail, though, because if there’s one thing Fer doesn’t like it’s jealous dudes.
In this chapter, we get the story of Tita’s birth; the way she came to have such an affinity for the kitchen and for cooking; how she and Pedro fell in love; and how Pedro ended up getting engaged to Rosaura instead of Tita.
Happy Monday! Enjoy Paty Cantú’s Suerte.
A Feast Fit for Moctezuma
Before the entrada, Matteo brings up the Top Chef Birthday Curse: everyone who competes on their birthday gets eliminated. And it’s his birthday. Oops.
At dinner, Magdalena and Eugenio are recapping the non-wedding drama while Justino mopes. When he doesn’t respond to Magdalena, she’s actually concerned that something’s wrong with him, but then he explodes, so nope, totally normal. He complains that he can’t even eat his dinner in peace and storms off to some other part of the house while Eugenio comforts Magdalena.
