How can I possibly summarize this chapter any better than the last line–
In this chapter, Tita and Nacha prepare all the food for the banquet for Rosaura and Pedro’s wedding; Pedro admits to Tita that he loves her and is only marrying Rosaura to be close to her; the wedding reception ends with everyone being literally sick at the thought of their lost true loves; and Nacha dies.
In this chapter, we get the story of Tita’s birth; the way she came to have such an affinity for the kitchen and for cooking; how she and Pedro fell in love; and how Pedro ended up getting engaged to Rosaura instead of Tita.
After watching the movie last week and recapping the Top Chef Mexico episode where they based the challenge on the recipes from the book I’m in the mood to read the book again. If you’d like to join me, I’m planning on just a chapter a week.
